27 April 2022Patrushev pointed out the special role of Russia in shaping the geopolitical and moral climate in the world
Moscow, April 27, Interfax - Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolay Patrushev noted that Russia has played an important role not only in determining the geopolitical situation throughout history, but also in shaping of morality.
"Our country has historically played a special role in shaping not only the geopolitical, but also the moral climate in the world," he said in an interview published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
As an example, Patrushev mentioned the restoration of French statehood by Alexander I after the victory over Napoleon and his creation of the Holy Alliance in Europe in 1815. This union, as the secretary of Security Council noted, aimed at respecting the territorial integrity of states, suppressing nationalist movements and provided Europe with forty years of peaceful existence.
"After a little over a hundred years, the ideology of Nazism appeared. The Soviet Union did everything to destroy it, but at the same time initiated the revival of an independent German state. Stalin insisted on this at the Yalta Conference. The USSR was the first to support the unification of Germany in the late 1980s," Patrushev continued.
In his opinion, at the moment we are faced with the reality of the collapse of the American-centric world, in which we must live and build an optimal line of behavior.
"In this regard, Russia has chosen the path to fully defend its sovereignty, firmly defend national interests, cultural and spiritual identity, traditional values and historical memory. Our spiritual and moral values allow us to remain ourselves, be honest with our ancestors, preserve the individual, society and the state," Patrushev said.
At the same time, according to the politician, the Europeans made a different choice. "They have adopted so-called liberal values, although it is neoliberalism in fact. It promotes the priority of the private over the public, individualism, suppressing love for the Fatherland, the gradual withering away of the state. It is already obvious that with such a doctrine, Europe and European civilization have no future," Patrushev concluded. |
