04 September 2006Emercom saves a monastery in Novgorod from an aggressive cat

Veliky Novgorod, September 4, Interfax – Emergency Committee’s rescuers conducted the other day a special operation in St. Anthony’s Monastery in Novgorod to capture an aggressive cat which attacked people.
The St. Petersburg vedomosti daily reported on Monday that the staff of the Novgorod Museum Preserve, which includes the monastery, repeatedly complained about the assaults made by a big cat they could not withstand on their own.
Once on the spot the rescuers spent their forces before they could capture the beast, which got into the monastery’s Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady no one knows how.
‘The cat has proved to be a real big veteran, a very aggressive and dashing attacker’, one of the rescuers reported.
The cat set free outside the monastery walls.
