Moscow, February 15, Interfax - The Kremlin welcomes the recent meeting between Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Pope Francis, pointing out its uniqueness in terms of its content and the unanimity in terms of the protection of the interests of Christians worldwide, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
"No doubt, we welcome such a meeting, we believe that it's an absolutely unique meeting, and in the first place in terms of the content of the part in which it is known about the results of this meeting and in terms of symbolism, and in terms of the unanimity as regards the protection of the interests of Christians worldwide, especially in places where not only the interests, but also the lives of Christians need to be protected," Peskov said, referring to the meeting between the patriarch and the pope.
"Of course, it is important to point out the wishes of our patriarch and pope, which they conducted in terms of continuing the dialogue," Peskov said. |
