Ornella Muti buys apartment in Moscow near Cathedral of Christ the Savior
Moscow, November 18, Interfax - Italian film actress Ornella Muti plans to move to Russia, Russia's Rossiya 1 television (VGTRK) has reported.
"Ornella Muti has bought a three-room apartment in Ostozhenka, near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where she will live with her boyfriend Fabrice [...] In Moscow, Ornella Muti plans to launch a leather footwear line and open an Italian restaurant," said the television report aired.
According to the report, her boyfriend, businessman Fabrice Kerherve, is involved in multilevel marketing and has a business in Moscow.
According to information possessed by the television channel, Muti's documents to register to live in Moscow are "almost ready."
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said in early November that Muti had not applied for Russian citizenship via official channels, but Moscow was ready to consider such a request if it was made.
"No, there has not been [a request from Muti for Russian citizenship]. If such a request is made, it will be considered," Peskov told reporters on November 7.
On November 3, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had made a decision to grant Russian citizenship to American actor Steven Seagal.
Russian citizenship was earlier granted to French actor Gegard Depardieu. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the relevant decree on January 3, 2013.
On September 12, 2015, a Russian passport was given to American boxer and world champion Roy Jones.
Jeff Monson, an American mixed martial artist, received Russian citizenship in December 2015. He is known for his affection for Russia.
