Minsk, October 26, Interfax - Former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya has urged private businesses, religious communities, cultural and sport personalities, and IT specialists to support workers on strike.
"I believe that private businesses, religious communities, cultural and sport personalities, and IT specialists will support the strikers and will stop working for one day," Tikhanovskaya said on Telegram on Monday.
"Support workers of MAZ, Grodno Azot, MTZ, MZKT, Naftan, Belaruskali, and other enterprises," she said.
Mass protests against the official outcome of the August 9 presidential election have been on in Belarus for three months. The protesters demand that incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko step down, political prisoners be released, and a new election be held. |
