Yerevan, November 2, Interfax - The Azerbaijani armed forces delivered strikes on the city of Shushi in Nagorno-Karabakh and partially damaged a mosque on Sunday afternoon, the emergencies committee of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic said.
"The Azerbaijani armed forces fired Grad and Smerch multiple launch rocket systems on the city of Shushi on Sunday afternoon. Massive devastation was caused, and the Iranian mosque Govhar Agha was partially damaged," the committee said.
The strike was targeted, but did not cause serious damage - the shell fell near the wall of the mosque, and part of the wall was damaged, the rescuers reported.
The fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone is continuing now, despite three attempts to conclude a "humanitarian truce," both parties to the conflict are sustaining losses, both in terms of troops and equipment. |
