Moscow, December 21, Interfax - Almost a hundred Orthodox churches have been built in Moscow over the past decade, the administrator of Program-200, State Duma deputy Vladimir Resin told Interfax on Monday.
"For ten years, up to the day 97 churches were erected, 80 church complexes were put in operation, another 12 are prepared for commission, other churches are in process of decoration. 37 churches are under construction, 17 land lots are ready for starting the works on them. The registration of permits for 46 churches has been completed, while documents for another 21 churches are being processed," Resin said.
According to him, for ten years the program managed to overcome the originally set goals: as to the information of mid-December, 281 church complexes instead of 200 planned are in process of design and construction in old and new Moscow. |
