26 October 2021, 15:26Lukashenko said it would be un-Christian to refuse to sell electricity to Lithuania and Ukraine
Minsk, October 26, Interfax - President of Byelorussia Alexander Lukashenko is not against the sale of electricity to Lithuania and Ukraine.
According to the presidential press service, he said this while talking with the staff of the Lida Central District Hospital on Tuesday.
"The head of state also touched upon the topic of electricity sales to Lithuania and Ukraine. He noted that, of course, taking into account the position of the countries in relation to Belarus, it would be possible to close down and not supply electricity to Lithuania, for example," the press service said.
"But I feel sorry for people... We will help. It would be mean to have free capacity, not to consume it completely and not to help a suffering neighbor. This is neither Slavic nor Christian," the president said. |
