Moscow, May 4, Interfax - Russia has never attacked anyone in its history, it has only protected its borders, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia said in a sermon in the Kremlin's Cathedral of the Archangel Michael.
"We do not want to fight anyone. Russia has never attacked anyone. Surprisingly, a great, strong country has never attacked anyone, it has only protected its borders. God grant that our country remain strong, potent and beloved by God till the end of times," the patriarch said.
He prayed for God "to bolster faith, piety and wisdom of our people and to give us strength to always work, live and, if necessary, fight to preserve the free and independent lifestyle of our people and our country."
"May God save Russian soil from feud and foreign invasion and strengthen the Orthodox belief, which is the only spiritual force capable of truly uniting our people. We believe that God will grant us his mercy and grace, including during these turbulent times," the patriarch said. |
