10 June 2022, 14:19All-Tatar Public Center designated as extremist organization, banned
Kazan, June 10, Interfax - The Supreme Court of Tatarstan ordered on Friday that the all-Tatar Public Center (ATPC), whose operation was suspended over extremist activities, be liquidated, a court representative told Interfax.
"The judicial disposition was read out today. The court upheld a motion from the Tatarstan Prosecution Service and decided to liquidate the ATPC as an extremist organization," he said.
According to the court representative, the ruling has yet to take effect.
The Tatarstan Prosecution Service filed an administrative motion for liquidation of the regional civil organization, the all-Tatar Public Center, with the Supreme Court of Tatarstan.
The Russian Justice Ministry ordered in October 2021 that the ATPC suspend operation over extremist activities.
Founded in 1988, the ATPC has been one of the most active nationalistic civil organizations in the region. Over recent years, it has evolved into a small club of veterans of the Tatar nationalistic movement. |
