College for training astrologists to be opened in Ukraine

Odessa, August 16, Interfax - A specialized trade college for training 120 astrologists a year is to open in the nearest future in Simferopol (Crimea).

The president of the Ukrainian National Association of Astrologists, Irina Zhuravlyova, reported at an international reflection-action conference in Odessa that Ukraine was the first country in the world to recognize astrology as a science.

According to Zhuravlyova, the college will train students according to a curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education. Centres for training astrologists are planned to be opened in all major cities in Ukraine.

Entrants are to be at least 18 years old and secondary school graduates. The curriculum provides for 452 academic hours for theory and 271 academic hours for practice.

Zhuravlyova also expressed hope that astrologists will be able to open their own higher education institute within five years. For the present however, she said, there is a shortage of teachers with higher education even for an astrological college.

With regard to the forthcoming elections and Ukraine’s prospects for the next year, astrologists assured the public that no serious upheavals threatened the country. In their estimates, after the elections the parliament membership will not change substantially, while Ukraine will continue facing the same problems.

Astrologists pointed out that in anticipation of the elections they were approached by politicians including well-known ones, but refused to name them.
