The Russian Church’s representative conveys Christmas presents to children from the Moscow Catholic orphanage

Moscow, January 14, Interfax – The Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate’s secretary for inter-Christian affairs Fr. Igor Vyzhanov handed over Christmas presents to children from the Moscow Catholic orphanage.

The Christmas greeting of children, who were for the most part baptized in Orthodoxy, was postponed because of a medical isolation period in the orphanage.

The DECR cooperation with the orphanage under auspices of the Salesians originated from the activities of Members of the Orthodox-Catholic working group for considering problems between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Roman Catholic Church, the Moscow Patriarchate’s official web-site has reported Monday.

The group’s members agreed in December 2005 that Orthodox children in Catholic orphanages should be admitted to Orthodox divine services, spiritual education and instruction.
