Islam in Russia Today by Roman Silantyev to be translated into Farsi

Moscow, September 10, Interfax - The Islamic Culture Research Foundation started translating into Farsi the new book of Roman Silantyev on the newest history and contemporary situation of the Islamic community in Russia.

Islam in Russia Today is based on materials of the thematic encyclopedia Contemporary Islam in Russia published in 2008 in frames of a program realized by the Russian Education Ministry in the Moscow State Linguistic University to train experts specialized in history and culture of Islam.

"Muslims abroad seek objective information on contemporary situation of Islamic community in Russia. We hope this book will give them better idea of the period of Islamic revival in Russia," the foundation representative Nazim Zeinalov told an Interfax-Religion correspondent.

The book is to be published in Iran next year.
