Muslim women from Kazan to preach in nightclubs

Kazan, March 10, Interfax – Republican women contest Voice of Heart and Reason will be held in Kazan, its winners will preach in nightclubs and various youth events.

All Muslim women aged from 15 to 60 can participate in the contest. Best preachers will be awarded with a tour to Turkey. It will take place late in September in the building of the Republic’s Muslims Spiritual Directorate, Kazan edition of the Komsomolskaya Pravda daily has reported on Tuesday.

Muslim girls will deliver sermons about harmful influence of alcoholism, drugs, smoking and suicides. Marks will be given for being convincing, for intonation and even gestures. Speeches should be given only in the Tatar language.

“There are very few preachers in the Republic who try to pay attention to the “diseases of civilization.” They speak mostly in mosques to few people. For the first time we want to summon all who want to preach together,” chair of the Muslim Women Union Nailya Ziganshina said.

According to her, the plan is to set a team of young Muslim girls-preachers. They will speak in nightclubs and various youth events.

“Youth would rather listen to people of their age than to elder generation,” Ziganshina believes.
