Patriarch Kirill became one of the heroes of a documentary film about Europe, creating by Vatican

Moscow, November 26, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has given an interview for a documentary film Bells of Europe, the joint project of the TV centre of Vatican and the Italian companies RAI Cinema and Benetton.

Answering the question about moral and cultural condition of a European and Russian society, the Primate of the Church has declared interrelation in morals and religion. According to him, struggle for morals and traditional values, developed on the basis of Christian heritages - the main task of Christians of the East and the West.

Thus the Patriarch has underlined that refusal of traditional moral values threatens to human society and state existence and also can lead to accident of global scale.

The film will include interviews of some religious and political leaders about spiritual roots of European civilization and the future of Europe, the official site of the Moscow Patriarchate told.

Opinions on this problem have also expressed the Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, Pope Benedict XVI, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. Church bells became the symbolical refrain in a film. It’s also has entitled a film.
