Tatar two-meter Quran is recognized the world biggest

Kazan, February 20, Interfax - The Guinness World Records Committee recognized that Quran especially ordered by Tatarstan and produced by Italian masters is the biggest in the world published edition of the Holy Muslim Scripture.

The Vozrozhdeniye-Yanarysh Foundation for reviving historic and cultural sites of Tatarstan received a corresponding certificate from the Guinness World Records Book as it is the investor of the project.

The Quran is made by an Italian company. It size is 1,5 meters to 2 meters, there are 632 pages in it, its weight is 800 kg. Pages are made from Scotch paper. Its cover is decorated with malachite, semi-precious stones, jasper, gold tinsel and silver.

The two-meter Quran is temporary placed at the honorary place in the hall of the Qul Sharif Mosque in the Kazan Kremlin.
