14 March 2012, 11:17Court upholds arrest of feminist punk group member for performance in cathedral
Moscow, March 14, Interfax - The Moscow City Court has ruled to uphold a lower court ruling on keeping Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, a member of the feminist punk group Pussy Riot, in jail before her trial for disorderly conduct at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on February 21.
The court so declined an appeal by Tolokonnikova's defense team, which sought the invalidation of the Tagansky Court ruling sanctioning Tolokonnikova's arrest for more than 1.5 months.
