Makhachkala, March 23, Interfax - Two people, a local imam and his bodyguard, were killed when an explosive device was detonated in Buinaksk, Dagestan, early on Friday morning, a spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee's branch in the republic told Interfax.
"The preliminary information available suggests that the imam of the Central Mosque and his bodyguard were killed. They were walking down the street," the spokesman said.
Investigators and sappers are working at the site, he added. |
