30 March 2012, 10:48Head of Moscow Police: Pussy Riot spitted to soul, they were detained legitimately
Moscow, March 30, Interfax - Head of Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate Vladimir Kolokoltsev considers the Pussy Riot action a spit to the soul of the whole society.
"I wonder what else they could have done to cause such reaction in society. They did everything they could: coitus in a public place, performances in allowed and not allowed places," Kolokoltsev said reporting to the Moscow State Duma.
He reminded that on the eve of the action at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior the similar action was held in the Yelokhovo Cathedral.
"Personally I, as an Orthodox believer, consider an action in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior as a split to my soul. Cynicism of this action, its opposition to the whole society - it resulted in the corresponding reaction of the law enforcement agencies," he said.
He reminded that as a measure of restraint the detained girls were taken into custody.
"I would like to remind that, first of all, they hid, the third participant until recent time disguised with other data. So considering the gravity of the committed crime, there were all grounds to suppose that then we will be searching for them for a long time," the general explained.
According to him, "they spend their time in conviction the same as other our convicts."
"Members of the public supervisory committee came to see them. There's no prejudiced attitude to them," Kolokoltsev said.
