20 April 2012, 16:42Arrested Pussy Riot girl apologized, but still sure she was right
Moscow, April 20, Interfax - This Thursday, two months after scandal action of Russian punk band Pussy Riot, one of the three female members Maria Alyokhina first said sorry for the action, but with a remark.
Various religious figures have urged the three women to apologize. In response, Alyokhina quoted a line from a poem by Russian poet Ossip Mandelshtam: "All right, I apologize, but I won't change."
Yesterday, Moscow Tagansky Court has extended the girls' detention terms until June 24.
The members of the punk rock group have expressed fear that their little children will be used by the authorities to blackmail them.
"The investigator spoke about guardianship authorities, I don't want to think about it, it'll be the most terrible thing if my child gets affected," Alyokhina said.
Two of three detained girls have little children. "We are accused of cynicism. If cynicism is a crime, let's get all cynics into jail. We have our jails overcrowded as it is," Alyokhina said. |
