The Komi Republic appeals against Russian Gov decision to shift working day to Sunday

Syktyvkar, August 4, Interfax - Student of Komi State Pedagogical Institute Elvira Bereza appealed to the Syktyvkar city court against Russian government decision to consider May 4, Sunday, a working day.

The plaintiff is a member of the Syktyvkar Protestant Church of Pentecostal Christians The God's Glory. She believes the governmental decision contradicts article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights that secures Russian citizens respect for their private and family life, the Memorial local human rights commission has told Interfax.

Bereza says The God's Glory inner rules suggest that every Sunday should be observed as a day of special worship to God.
