Lugansk, August 21, Interfax - A shell fired by Ukrainian artillery has hit a church in central Lugansk, the press service for the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic reported on Thursday.
"Nineteen shells were fired at central Lugansk on Wednesday afternoon. One of them hit the canteen of the Mother of God of Tenderness Church," Alexey Toporov, a spokesman for the Lugansk People's Republic, told Interfax.
"There were containers with propane near the canteen. It's a miracle that they didn't explode," Toporov said.
He has no information on the casualties from the attack.
