Tajik Islamists use Moscow as a crossing point between Tajikistan and Syria

Dushanbe, November 25, Interfax - Up to 300 Tajik citizens are currently fighting in Syria on the side of anti-government forces, the deputy chairman of Tajikistan's National Security Committee, Akram Amonov, said in the country's parliament on Tuesday.

"Tajik citizens travel to Syria through the territory of Russia and Afghanistan," Amonov said.

One of the organizations ready to help people willing to fight on the side of Islamist forces in Syria is based on Prospekt Mira Street in Moscow, he said.

Amonov also criticized the operations of Tajik Migration Service's branch in Russia and ordered it to " monitor all movements of our citizens better."
