Moscow hopes Riyadh's coalition idea to prompt Islamic countries to fight terrorism Lavrov

Moscow, December 16, Interfax - Russia expects that Saudi Arabia's initiative on setting up an antiterrorist coalition will serve as an incentive for Muslim countries to oppose terrorism and attempts to gamble on the religious factor, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"We expect that this initiative will serve as an incentive for all Muslim countries, without exception, to stand hand in hand against any manifestations of terrorism, and against any attempts to gamble on the religious factor, possibly through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," Lavrov said at a press conference following negotiations with Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa on Wednesday.
