Issue of forming armed forces within anti-ISIL Islamic coalition not discussed in Moscow - Qatar's foreign minister

Moscow, December 25, Interfax - The idea of establishing armed forces within the newly-created Saudi-led Islamic coalition fighting against Islamic State (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) is not being discussed for now, Qatar's Foreign Minister Khalid bin Muhammad al-Atiyah has said.

"The issue of creating armed forces has not yet been discussed. We seek to concentrate our efforts on the fight against the extremist ideology," he said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday when answering a question from Interfax whether the Islamic coalition's special operations forces could be sent to Syria.

Members of the coalition are "exchanging information concerning movements of people and money," he added.
