State Duma MP and senator served in altar at a Liturgy in Damascus

Moscow, April 11, Interfax – State Duma deputy and member of the Federation Council served as altar boys at a Liturgy in the St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Damascus.

"Deputy of the State Duma Sergey Gavrilov and member of the Federation Council Dmitry Sablin worked in the altar," Gavrilov’s press service told Interfax-Religion.

According to the interviewee of the agency, services in the church have been resumed after a long break.

Representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia at the Antioch patriarch Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov) and secretary of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations on Inter-Christian Affairs Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov) celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
