Moscow, August 26, Interfax - The Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria delivered the first batch of humanitarian aid to 'the Valley of Christians' in the Syrian province of Homs.
"The population of 'the Valley of Christians' suffers from acute shortages of water, food, fuel and electricity," the communication service of the Russian Orthodox Church's Department for External Church Relations (DECR) said on Friday.
The aid was delivered with assistance of the DECR and the Moscow department of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
'The Valley of Christians' is a settlement complex inhabited mostly by Christians. The population of this locality is about 250,000 people. 'The Valley of Christians' became a safe haven for many believers in conditions of armed hostilities and persecutions by extremists.
