Rostov-on-Don, August 30, Interfax - North Caucasian territorial military court in Rostov-on-Don has pronounced a guilty verdict against two defendants in the case over the calls to residents in the Astrakhan Region to join illegal armed groups in Syria.
"According to the investigation's theory, the defendants incited residents of the Astrakhan region to perpetrate terrorism and extremism-related crimes. They have recruited the Muslims among Astrakhan residents, called on them to conduct terrorist activity; the main goal was to talk the recruits into joining illegal armed groups and travelling to Syria," the court's spokesperson, Alyona Katkalo told Interfax.
She said that the criminal case had been heard in a special procedure, because the defendants had pled completely guilty.
The court sentenced Rakhmanzhan Zakhidov to four years in a general-security penal colony, Ruslan Adilov - to four years in a high-security penal colony.
