Project of the Moscow Tolerance Center to 2018 World Cup presented in Davos

Moscow, January 20, Interfax - Project Discrimination Zero worked out in frames of preparations to 2018 World Cup, which will be held in Russia, has been presented in Davos forum.

The idea of the project belongs the Federal Research and Methodological Center for Tolerance, Psychology and Education (Tolerance Center), press service of the Federation of the Jewish Community of Russia, which patronizes the center, reports.

Discrimination Zero is a unique project aimed at decreasing manifestations of xenophobia and racism in sports and work with football fans. First of all, it refers to football fans, but does not exclude other kinds of team sports," President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, head of the Tolerance Center Alexander Boroda told the journalists.

According to him, the project is based on interactive methods of work with youth - online games, exhibitions, lectures.

UNESCO general director Irina Bokova, who attended the presentation of the program in Davos, noted that "sport can be a powerful instrument of social integration, gender equality, extending rights and opportunities."
