Tbilisi, February 16, Interfax - Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia will return to his homeland after surgery in a Berlin clinic on February 20.
"After the surgery, the German doctors assessed the patriarch's condition as good and agreed to discharge him from the clinic on February 20. The patriarch wants to return to Georgia as soon as possible," Lasha Zhvania, the head of the patriarch's foundation, told reporters on Thursday.
Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will visit the patriarch in the Berlin clinic on Thursday, the Georgian government press service said.
Kvirikashvili has gone to Germany to attend the international Munich conference on security.
