Patriarch Kirill expresses solidarity with Egyptian Christians

Moscow, April 10, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has offered condolences on the terrorist attacks in the Egyptian cities of Tanta and Alexandria.

"We have solidarity in the face of the common trouble that is now striking cities and settlements in various cities. The evil of terrorism should be stopped via joint efforts taken by all countries regardless of their political ideals, views and convictions, of their attitude to the contemporary international agenda," the patriarch said in his message to Coptic Church Patriarch Tawadros II, the Russian Church said on its website on Sunday.

"It's either we defeat terrorism together or each of us will suffer from this horrible evil separately," he said.

"It's time not to just say no to terrorism, but to really unite to prevent these misanthropic, extremist convictions from causing even more suffering of innocent people," he said.
