Baku, June 21, Interfax - There are no religious radicalism and fundamentalism in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the Ramadan fast-breaking ceremony.
"Azerbaijan is a secular and modern state, which is open to the world. There are no radicalism, fundamentalism and any internal source of a threat in Azerbaijan," Aliyev said.
"Where do radicalism and terrorism come to life and raise their head? This is happening in the countries where people are illiterate, where social justice is breached, and where injustice and poverty reign. Therefore, the best guarantee against radicalism is social justice, wellbeing, literacy and a correct policy. There are no grounds for radicalism wherever such factors exist," he said.
