Victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks commemorated in Moscow

Moscow, September 12, Interfax - Sixteen years after the terrorist attacks in the USA that killed about 3,000 people, the Moscow representation of the Orthodox Church in America held a requiem service for innocent victims, the Russian Church reports at its website.

The requiem service was held after the liturgy in the Church of St. Catherine in-the-fields - representation of the Orthodox Church in America.

Minister Counselor for political Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Christopher T. Robinson and Secretary for political Affairs of the Embassy of Canada in Moscow, Nina Kondraty attended the service.

Before the service, Archpriest Christopher Hill announced the message of Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada dedicated to the date.

After the memorial service in English and Church Slavonic was held a minute of silence during which was made the ringing equal to the memorable date at the commemorative Parish bell tower.
