Moscow, October 27, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia urges law-makers to consider religious and moral traditions of society when adopting laws.

"When forming the policy, working out laws, adopting decisions on certain cultural projects the state should consider moral rules, connected with religious traditions of nations," he said at a session of the Interreligious Council's Presidium.

According to him, "this is the only way to provide creative development and existence of the society without conflicts".

"If today we do not carefully observe legislation on defamation of religious shrines, then tomorrow we can get a split society with degrading basis of values, youth disoriented in questions of morals, which, in fact, deprive people of future," the head of the Russian Church said.
