Putin to deliver speech at Bishops' Council on Friday

Moscow, November 30, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin will deliver a speech at a meeting of the Russian Orthodox Church Bishops' Council on December 1, the Kremlin press service reported.

The Russian Orthodox Church Bishops' Council is underway at the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow timed to the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the patriarchate in Russia.

The Bishops' Council is the supreme managing body of the Russian Orthodox Church, comprising Moscow Patriarchate's bishops from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia and foreign countries where Russian Orthodox Church diocese operate.
