Moscow, January 24, Interfax - Moscow demands that the UN, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, and the European Union react to the harassment of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"Connivance to take over churches of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church and violence against its clergy and flock continues. Attempts continue to be made to limit the activities of this large religious group of Ukraine, to divide church communities," Lavrov said at the opening ceremony of the 26th International Christmas Educational Readings on Wednesday.
"We have demanded a reaction to all these illegal actions from the OSCE, the Council of Europe, and the UN, and demanded a concrete reaction from the European Union. We have yet to see reactions on the needed level," the minister said.
