Moscow, November 1, Interfax - The voice of Russia will be dignified and confident in the future, in keeping with its history, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the World Russian People's Council in Moscow on Thursday.
"There is one thing I do not doubt: the voice of Russia will be dignified and confident in the future world, which is predetermined by our tradition, domestic spiritual culture, self-awareness, and, finally, the very history of our country as a distinctive civilization that is unique but does not make self-confident and loutish claims of exclusiveness," Putin said.
The history of mankind is unthinkable without such exceptional civilizations as India, China, Western Europe, America, and many others, he said.
"This is a truly multifaceted complexity, every facet of which supplements and enriches others," Putin said.
He quoted Russian thinker Nikolay Danilevsky as saying that "no civilization can boast of being the highest point of development."
An understanding of the complexity of civilizational development "is the foundation of the multipolar world and the advocacy of principles of international law," Putin said.
"Of course, the standing and influence of the poles of future development will be determined primarily by their economic, scientific, cultural, spiritual, and human basis and potential," he said.
