Russian Orthodox Church believes Constantinople Patriarchate delaying Ukraine church tomos

Moscow, November 30, Interfax - The Russian Orthodox Church said, citing the results of the meeting of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Holy Synod that ended in Istanbul on Thursday, it believes that the Constantinople Patriarchate is delaying the process of establishing an autocephalous church in Ukraine.

"The Constantinople Patriarchate once again, I think it was for the third time already, spoke of autocephaly, but did not even name any date for the so-called unification assembly. However, it drafted a document, a charter for a church that does not exist and cannot exist, as the free and independent will stated by Ukraine's Orthodox believers led by Metropolitan Onufry has shown," Vladimir Legoyda, head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for Church, Society and Media Relations, wrote on his Telegram channel.

On Thursday, the Constantinople Synod approved a draft charter for Ukraine's "autocephalous" church, but failed to set a date for its "unification" assembly.
