Poroshenko decorates 2 metropolitans who joined new church from UOC with Order of Prince Yaroslav Mudry

Kiev, January 14, Interfax - Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko has issued a decree awarding orders to Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) and Metropolitan Simeon (Shostatsky), who have joined the new church of Ukraine from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), as well as Metropolitan Andrey Abramchuk of theso-called Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

Under the presidential decree of January 13, the metropolitans are decorated with orders "for their considerable contribution to the establishment of spirituality, mercy, and religious accord, their considerable personal services in the development of the independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and their many years of faithful service to the people of Ukraine."

Metropolitan Simeon was decorated with an Order of Prince Yaroslav Mudry of the 4th Class, Metropolitan Alexander received an Order of Prince Yaroslav Mudry of the 5th Class, and Metropolitan Andrey received an Order of Merit of the 2nd Class.
