Moscow, May 8, Interfax - On the eve of Victory Day, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has called on Russians to be so strong that the enemies would not even think about starting a war.
"We must be strong so that no enemy enters our land ever again. We must be so strong that not even a thought to start a war against our country could seriously exist in the minds of people," he said, addressing servicemen after laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow on Wednesday.
This requires the Armed Forces capable of repelling any enemy, our people's capacity for a feat, and labor of the entire country, he said.
"To ensure that it is so, we all should be motivated and a person cannot motivate their deeds by their salary alone, because no money can pay for a military duty, can pay for an injury, can pay for death," Patriarch Kirill said, adding that the strength of the mind is the factor that ensures the victory.
This is why in the current conditions, "the enemy is aiming its spike at weakening the strength of the mind," he said.
"Our task is ensuring that the strength of the mind, the love for the Motherland and the sense of patriotism never weaken in the hearts of our servicemen and our entire nation," he said.
