Over 250.000 believers worshipped the right hand of St. John the Baptist during a week

Moscow, June 15, Interfax - Over 250.000 pilgrims from all corners of Russia worshipped the right hand of St. John the Baptist during last week. The relic was brought from Montenegro on June 7.

A source in the St. Andrew the-First-Called Foundation, which organized the event, said so to Interfax on Thursday.

As Interfax reported earlier, numerous pilgrims have queued for the Church of Christ the Saviour to worship the holy prophet’s right hand with which he baptized Jesus Christ. To make it easier to the pilgrims, a round-o-clock access to the relic has been opened since Monday.

The holy relic will set off to other cities of the country after prayer service celebrated by the Patriarch on Friday, June 16.
