Russians become more loyal to marriages with non-Christians

Moscow, July 8, Interfax – The number of Russians who are against marriages with people of a different faith has significantly reduced for the recent decade.

If ten years ago almost half of Russians (48%) disapproved of marriage between their close relative and a person of another religion, at the moment only 30% of respondents stick to this position.

The poll also shows that the number of Russians who are neutral about the faith of their relatives’ partner has increased from 37% to 51% respectively. At the same time, the number of Russians who are ready to approve of such a marriage has more than doubled - from 7% to 16%.
