Ancient church in Spain's Granada transferred to Russian Orthodox community for use

Moscow, January 27, Interfax - The official ceremony to hand over the Church of St. Bartholomew, built in the 16th century, to the Moscow Patriarchate's local community for use was held in the city of Granada in Spain.

The document on the transfer was signed as a follow-up to the agreements reached at a meeting between Orthodox Archbishop Nestor of Madrid and Lisbon and Catholic Archbishop of Granada Francisco Javier Martinez Fernandez on October 13, 2020.

The ceremony began upon the completion of a religious service performed in the Church of St. Bartholomew by Archbishop Nestor and several other Russian priests.
