Russia won't look for 'compromise' as concerns registering same-sex relations Peskov

Moscow, July 14, Interfax - The Russian constitution and the position of the country's citizens clearly indicate that there is no need to register the relationships of same-sex couples in Russia in any form in the wake of the judgement of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on same-sex marriages in Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"No, there is no need to look for a compromise form of registration. The president has not reacted to this in any way. We have absolutely definite wording in the constitution and an absolutely definite number of Russian citizens who support such a definite position," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
