St. Petersburg, August 25, Interfax - The Troitsky Cathedral in St. Petersburg is on fire, the main department of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in St. Petersburg told Interfax.
The fire is situated at the trestle of the main dome, 30-40 meters above the ground.
The fire has extended over an area of 250 square meters, the ministry said.
"The dome has collapsed, and trestle around the dome is on fire," the ministry said. Sixty-eight firemen and 28 units of equipment are involved in fighting the blaze.
