Russian communist leader urges 'not to be like Estonians' when re-burial of Lenin's body is concerned

Moscow, July 4, Interfax - Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), has again come out categorically against the re-burial of Lenin's body.

'There is another dirty and essentially abominable provocation going on', the communist leader declared in an interview with the Izvestia daily, commenting on the rumor that his party and the authorities agreed to re-bury Lenin's body provided the coffin with his remains is taken through the country for veneration.

Zyuganov said Lenin was buried in the mausoleum in accordance with the resolution of the supreme state body - the Congress of People's Deputies and it was 'supported by the whole country'.

'Orthodox canons are also respected as the man who drew the country out of ruin and gathered it in a whole rests two meters below the ground level', the deputy said.

'We should not behave like Estonians; we should cherish our history', Zyuganov stressed.
