Baku, April 26, Interfax - Georgia does not intend to put up with the loss of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and will work on restoring its territorial integrity, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia said.
"We need peace based on historical justice. Georgia will never put up with the loss of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and will do everything to restore its territorial integrity," the Patriarch said in his address (read out by the Georgian Church official) to the participants in the World Religious Summit being held in Baku on Monday.
The Patriarch said the forum in Baku is being held at a very difficult time and therefore all problems need to be addressed. The Patriarch said Georgia is located at the crossing of the interests of many countries, which is causing it territorial problems.
At the same time, Ilia II called on the world powers to refrain from using force to solve the existing problems.
