Moscow, February 21, Interfax - Leader of the world proletariat Vladimir Lenin must be buried, but the decision should not be rushed, said ex-Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
"I side with those who think he must be buried. This is what Lenin himself and his family wanted. But such things should be handled with caution," Gorbachev said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday.
"Russia is grappling with many other serious problems now, including the fight against nationalism. Well, let us toss in one more [Lenin's burial] and the country will be finally split," he said. "But when the time to bury Lenin comes, this great man should be given all honors. He was a great man," said Gorbachev.
