Moscow, March 30, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia explained the situation with Swiss watch that some journalists "made him wear."

The day before, he met with renowned TV anchor Vladimir Solovyov who asked the Primate to tell what stood behind the notorious story that took place several years ago, when some Ukrainian websites posted a photo depicting on his hand Swiss watch Breguet that costs tens of thousands of dollars.

"Yes, I wear wristwatch. This watch was given to me by Dmitry Medvedev. It's our Russian watch, not expensive watch with the coat of arms, small, punctual watch," Solovyov cited the Patriarch on air the Vesti FM radio station sharing the impressions of their meeting.

According to the Solovyov, when the Primate saw that photograph "he could not bring it into correlation."

"When we put on church robe for divine service, it's impossible to put on, to wear watch. I was looking at that picture and suddenly I understood - it was a collage! But after that photograph was posted I began examining. As many people come and make presents. And often there are boxes that were never opened and you don't know what is there. And I found out that in fact there is Breguet watch, so I've never given commentaries that the Patriarch doesn't have it. There is a box with Breguet, but I've never worn it," the Patriarch explained at his meeting with the journalist.

According to Patriarch Kirill, then "with interest and horror" he started looking how much some presents cost.

"And when I saw it, I began to think what to do with these things. Certainly, I can give them as a present to other people, but what they will think of the Patriarch. How good the Patriarch is living if he can afford so expensive presents," the Primate said.
