Moscow, June 4, Interfax - The investigators have told the Pussy Riot girls and their lawyers that the investigation into the case involving the "performance" at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior has been completed, Nikolay Polozov, a lawyer for one of the young women, told Interfax.
"We have been familiarized with the decision on the completion of the investigative actions," Polozov said.
The lawyer said the investigators have familiarized him with the results of a recent forensic evaluation. "Two evaluations were in our favor. Now they have somewhat changed the questions and the result is different," he said.
The lawyers for the other women are only just going to meet with their clients. "I will be informed of the completion of the preliminary investigation," Mark Feigin, a lawyer for one of the women, told Interfax.
On February 21, several members of the feminist Pussy Riot band, their faces covered by masks, performed an anti-Putin song inside Christ the Savior Cathedral.
A criminal case was opened on hooliganism charges. Three Pussy Riot girls were arrested.
The Pussy Riot action triggered a broad response. Most of the people condemn the action, but opinions regarding possible punishment vary.
